Mistress Greig (traditional) 'Twas at a certain ferm toun on the windin' Deveron-Plaidy border There was an auld wifey caad Mistress Greig The servant girlies she kept in order (Chorus) Tow row row row te fal de diddle di dee Te fal de diddle di dee te tow row row Ilka nicht afore she gaed tae bed She did search the hoose all over In fearin' a villain micht be there And amongst them prove a rover The weemin bein' o' this sae tired A suit o' men's clothes they procured And they hae made a man o' straa And in anaith the bed he was buried When Mistress Greig was jawin' her rouns 'Twas in anaith the bed she spied him "Come oot o' that, ye villain!" she cried "An dinna think yer frae me hidin' The weemin they were pitten up To tak him frae whaur he was lyin' And the auld man placed at the fit o' the stairs To cudgel him when from them flyin' They've taen him oot and they've lain him doon The auld man he was for him ready And when he laid on his stick sae hard Baith his legs fell from his body The weemin they were pitten awa For this ill deeds that they'd been deein' And Mistress Greig and her auld man Were left to gaither his body thegither Mistress Greig and her auld man Puir auld bodies they need'na bother And when he lays on his stick sae hard Perhaps he'll maybe slay some ither!

When First I Came to Caledonia - traditional When first I came to Caledonia I got loading at number three I got boarding at Donald Norman's He had a daughter could make good tea And it was me and my brother Charlie The biggest shavers you e'er did see We're spearing eels in the month of April And starving slaves out on Scaterie I ga'ed tae Norman's for a pair of brochan A pound of soap and a cake of tea But Norman said that I may not have them 'Til fish got plenty on Scaterie So I went over to their big harbour Just on purpose for to see the spray I spied a maiden from Boulandrie over She looked to me like the Queen of May Noo if I had pen from Pennsylvania And I had paper of the purest white If I had ink of the rosy morning A true love note unto you I'd write And I wish that I was on the deepest ocean As far from land as once I could be Sailing over the deepest water A woman's love would never trouble me And I lay my head to a cask of brandy And it's a dandy I do declare 'Cause when I'm drinking, I'm seldom thinking How to gain that young lady fair

Memories of Argyll - Calum McIlroy At the top looking out I could stay forever Hands in pockets with my love I could stay Smoked skies at the harbour I could stay forever There's nothing going on here I could stay It's a rare kind of feeling On this late winter's evening It's much colder than the tourist season But from you I have no plans of leaving Playing pool at your folks' house I could stay forever Always longed for times like these I could stay Came to ring in the new year I could stay forever Never cared much for times like these I could stay
