I wrote this song after spending new year Oban. After years of spending Hogmanay at home and sleeping through the bells it was nice to have something to celebrate and somebody special to celebrate with.

Memories of Argyll - Calum McIlroy
At the top looking out
I could stay forever
Hands in pockets with my love
I could stay
Smoked skies at the harbour
I could stay forever
There's nothing going on here
I could stay
It's a rare kind of feeling
On this late winter's evening
It's much colder than the tourist season
But from you I have no plans of leaving
Playing pool at your folks' house
I could stay forever
Always longed for times like these
I could stay
Came to ring in the new year
I could stay forever
Never cared much for times like these
I could stay

One of my biggest inspirations - Mike Vass, and in particular this album, Decemberwell. This album pushed me to write my own tunes and made me re-evaluate what 'folk music' can be. Calum McIlroy
One of my many influences as a guitar player. Ian's unique approach to accompaniment, tune writing, and arrangement has inspired me to no end. Calum McIlroy

Great Scottish band! The addition of guests like Duncan Chisholm-fiddler extraordinaire- and Julie Fowlis-an authentic voice of Scotland- make it perfect. dardar1126

Dystopia was my introduction to Talisk when the live version of it was out on youtube. Between the energy and life not just by the music itself, but the people playing it being so engrained into the songs themselves, Talisk has become a foot-stomper, and an absolute jam of a band to put on full volume. ladyoforion
